(2 Jan 2020) A legal expert predicts Harvey Weinstein's trial will be "a zoo" and says jury selection will be difficult. "Nothing's gonna be normal on something like this," said Richard Kaplan a Los Angeles-based Criminal Defense Attorney who is not affiliated with the Weinstein case. "Jury selection in this may take longer than a typical trial because you don't want people that have prejudged the case and trying to find those in something like this is going to be very difficult. That's why he made the motion to take the case out of New York, which he lost." Weinstein is scheduled to stand trial Jan. 6 on charges he raped a woman in a Manhattan hotel room in 2013 and performed a forcible sex act on a different woman in 2006. He has pleaded not guilty and maintains that any sexual activity was consensual.
