Building Code Violations

Building Code violations can be criminally prosecuted when they are not addressed in a timely fashion. These offenses can result in substantial fines and, in some cases, the imposition of jail time.

Representative cases

  • Clients owns a nationally known hotel cited for multiple fire code violations which they failed to cure in a timely manner. The CEO, management company and other individuals related to the hotel were charged. After assisting the clients to get the building into compliance, the case was dismissed.
  • Client owned a building with an illegal marijuana dispensary in it. We presented evidence the client was unaware that the business the tenants were running was not legal. After our presentation, the client’s corporation was able to enter a plea to an infraction and all individuals charged were dismissed.
